Tune Hotels enters India
Tune Hotels has opened a new hotel in Ahmedabad, marking the budget accommodation brand’s Indian debut.
The Tune Hotel Ahmedabad launched this month at the new 4D Square Mall in the city’s Motera area, and will offer 100 modern rooms. As per Tune’s concept, guests will pay a room only rate, with optional extras such as air conditioning, satellite TV, towels and Wi-Fi sold on a pay-as-you-use basis.
“We look forward to offering travellers to Ahmedabad an unbeatable proposition that combines great savings with a great comfortable stay and in a location that is annexed to the newest Shopping Mall in Ahmedabad,” said Mark Lankester, Group CEO of Tune Hotels. “Our business model is designed to take care of the needs of travellers in India looking for great comfort without paying exorbitant rates.”
While the Tune Hotel Ahmedabad will not include common hotel facilities such as swimming pools or fitness centres, it will be introducing a new range of family rooms that can accommodate between four to six people. The company said this was one of several features intended to meet the needs of “the wedding market”.
“In addition to larger room varieties, we have also made other adjustments in our offerings to serve our Indian guests better including more expansive food and beverage availability within the hotel. With a view to the huge wedding market in India, the hotel is able to cater to the needs for major banquet facilities for that total wedding experience. In fact, we’ve taken bookings for our very first wedding entourage already,” Lankester added.
Following the launch of the Ahmedabad property, Tune plans to develop up six hotels in the northwestern state of Gujarat, and 20 across India in the next three years. The company is targeting the key tier one cities of Delhi, Mumbai, Kolkata, Bengaluru, Hyderabad and Chennai, plus tourist hubs such as Agra and Jaipur.
The brand is already present in Malaysia, Indonesia, Thailand, the Philippines and UK.
