Malaysian budget hotel group, Tune Hotels, has announced that it will open its first Bangkok property on 1 October this year.
Tune Hotel Asoke will be located on central Bangkok’s Sukhumvit Soi 14 and will feature 130 double and twin rooms. All Tune properties offer a ‘pay-as-you-use’ concept that offers low room rates and charges extra for towels, toiletries, air-conditioning, Wi-Fi and satellite TV.
“Tune Hotel Asoke is very important to us as it marks our presence in Bangkok, one of the world’s most visited cities,” said Mark Lankester, CEO of Tune Hotels. “Our central location on the bustling Sukhumvit Road provides easy accessibility for shopping, entertainment and dining – an ideal location for our savvy travellers. We anticipate a great response from visitors to Bangkok, especially from Asia and Europe, where guests have become accustomed to and are familiar with our brand and concept,” he added.
Tune Hotel Asoke will become the company’s third hotel in Thailand following previous openings in Hat Yai and Pattaya. The company is also planning to launch its first property in Phuket.
Tune Hotels is part of Tony Fernandes’ Tune Group, which also includes AirAsia.
