Tunisians took to the streets on Sunday in a show of solidarity against militants following the death of members of the group who carried out the deadly attacks on tourists at the Bardo Museum.
More than 20 were killed in the atrocity on 18 March, but tens of thousands of Tunisians lined the streets in a sea of red and white in symbolic defiance of terrorism.
World leaders attended the rally as Tunisia has been recognised as a symbol of the Arab Spring.
The attack on the museum was seen as a major setback in the otherwise positive strives made by the country in recent months.
“Tunisia wanted France with them, and France is on the side of Tunisia, the origin of the Arab Spring, and now a victim of a hateful act,” French President Francois Hollande said in France before flying to Tunis.
