Turkish Airlines jet skids off runway

A Turkish Airlines passenger plane has skidded off the runway at Mumbai’s Chhatrapati Shivaji International Airport. The Airbus A340, which was carrying 104 people from Istanbul, skidded while landing in heavy rain this morning. In a statement released this afternoon, the airline said that all passengers and the crew were immediately evacuated and no injuries were suffered. A new aircraft has been allocated for the passengers travelling from Mumbai to Istanbul.
