Accor has continued the expansion of its ibis budget hotel brand in China, with the opening of two new hotels in Sichuan province.
The two new properties, located in the provincial capital Chengdu and tourist town of Leshan, take the total ibis portfolio in Sichuan to nine hotels.
“ibis is an internationally renowned economy hotel brand, offering guests the highest level of comfort and convenience in its segment,” said Paul Richardson, chief operating officer of Accor Greater China. “Accor will continue to build on this success and leverage the brand reputation and expertise to extend the ibis network to more exciting destinations in Greater China over the coming years.”
The new ibis Chengdu Wenjiang Floraland is located within Floraland Theme Park – a major entertainment complex in the city’s Wenjiang district. The hotel offers 138 rooms, a restaurant and bar.
And in Leshan, the town famed for its 71-metre-high Leshan Giant Buddha carving, ibis Leshan City Center offers 130 rooms, a bar, restaurant and meeting room. Both new hotels offer free Wi-Fi.
Accor now operates 66 ibis hotels in more than 80 cities in Greater China.
