Martin Jones has been named senior vice president for global sourcing and product development at GTA. Jones was previously VP sourcing Asia Pacific and in his new role succeeds Ivan Walter who has become CEO of GTA. Jones will be responsible for developing its portfolio.
Elizabeth Abusleme has been appointed marketing and PR manager for the UK, Europe and Latin America for the Tourism Council of Bhutan. Abusleme previously spent four years at UNWTO as communications manager and was a journalist before that.
Michael Wale has been promoted to president for Starwood in Europe, Africa and Middle East (EMEA). Wale, who was previously vice president and director of operations for western Europe at Starwood, succeeds the role from Roeland Vos who has stepped down to move into a consultant role with the brand. Wale has worked for the hotel group since 1978 in various roles.
Andrée Edwards has been appointed as UK sales representative for the Setai, Miami Beach hotel. Edwards will be responsible for developing sales and marketing strategies, support and delivery for the hotel. She is previously managing director of Oyster Marketing Limited and regional director of sales UK for Rosewood Hotels & Resorts.
Amanda Middler has been named sales manager for Scotland, Northern Ireland and North East for Silversea. Middler joins the cruise line from IHG, where she was cluster sales manager. Her previous employers also include Monarch and MyTravel Airways.
Neil Parry has been appointed operations manager of the Legacy Cardiff International Hotel. Parry was previously staff and banqueting manager of Chepstow Racecourse and has also held management roles with Marriott and Hampton by Hilton.
