Ulu Cliffhouse, the 50,000ft² clifftop playground in Uluwatu, Bali is now open. With direct access to the beach, Ulu comprises a clifftop 25-metre infinity pool, recording studio, art space, boutique, open-air restaurant and cliffside bar. Ulu Cliffhouse will also feature a resident surfboard shaper.
Designed by Shed London and Bali’s Design Assembly, the beach club draws on the 1950’s Palm Springs aesthetic. Headed by Peruvian chef Diego Muñoz, who led Astrid & Gaston to #14 in The World’s 50 Best Restaurants list, Ulu Cliffhouse’s culinary offering includes ceviches, tiraditos and local fare. Drinks include in-house cold pressed juices including herbs and vegetables from the area, body tonics, kombucha and Jamu made locally in the Bukit peninsula, there is something for everyone.
The rock bar, half way down the cliff face, is accessible via a winding stairway. Situated above the ocean, the bar with a capacity of 100 offers tiki-style cocktails. When the tide is low, patrons will also have access to bar’s very own private beach cove.
Producer, mixer and composer Neil McLellan, head of Ulu Cliffhouse’s musical team, said: “My reason for choosing Ulu Cliffhouse over other locations in the world is quite simple, it is simply the best creative environment around. The fact that now I can offer the facilities of a world class beach club in partnership with Ulu Cliffhouse, combined with privacy and the beauty of nature is awesome.”
