A unique new wellness resort has opened in the northern Thai countryside.
Museflower Retreat & Spa is located in the Golden Triangle area of Chiang Rai province, close to the borders with Myanmar and Laos. Marketing itself as an “all-inclusive vegetarian holistic wellness retreat and spa”, Museflower provides 16 rooms in six cottages, overlooking a lake. All room rates include three vegetarian meals per day, plus a complimentary fitness class.
Facilities at the resort include several “firsts”, such as Thailand’s first Himalayan crystal salt pool and northern Thailand’s first ozonized outdoor pool, which is heated by solar power. Museflower also becomes the first venue outside Japan to offer Japanese “hado” counselling sessions, which measure a person’s bio-energetic state and the negative vibrations that affect a person’s health.
The resort will host yoga, wellness, meditation, reiki and creative retreats and workshops, and there is also an organic farm, fruit orchard, aquaponic garden, a boutique selling health products.
Museflower Retreat & Spa was created by Tania Ho, a graduate of the Cornell University School of Hotel Management and a former spa management executive with Six Senses.
“There are many great destination spas and health resorts in Thailand, but most of them are luxury resorts with high-end prices, which can make it out of reach for some people who need wellness support and simply want holistic healing without all the luxury surroundings,” said Ms Ho. “At Museflower we aim to provide a more casual setting, allowing our guests to reconnect back to nature, enjoy fresh air, clean vegetarian food, and ultimately reconnect back to themselves.”
The resort will also offer rental space for teachers who want a place to hold workshops, courses and classes.
