Uniworld Boutique River Cruise Collection has announced it will launch a new ship in spring 2015.
The SS Maria Theresa will sail the 15-day ‘European Jewels’ cruise from Budapest to Amsterdam and is named after the Archduchess of Austria and Queen of Hungary and Bohemia who reigned from 1740-1780.
The ship will also sail on selected dates of the 10-day ‘Tulips and Windmills’ itinerary in spring as well as Danube Christmas markets in December.
“We are delighted to name our new 2015 Super Ship after such a great historical figure as Maria Theresa, who had a wonderful and long legacy. In addition, Maria Theresa was the mother of Marie Antoinette, so in the spirit of our award-winning ship, S.S. Antoinette, we are confident the S.S. Maria Theresa will be equally as magnificent,” said Guy Young, president of Uniworld.
Earlier this year Uniworld added the SS Catherine on the Rhone and Saone rivers which Young said has had “amazing feedback”.
Uniworld is sold through Titan Travel in the UK.
