Travellers using Kota Kinabalu International Airport (KKIA) in Malaysia’s Sabah state will enjoy better facilities when the new wing of Terminal 1 opens for business tomorrow.
A Bernama report said the new Terminal 1 building has 64 check-in counters for international and domestic flights, 17 aircraft parking bays, and will be able to handle 3,200 passengers per peak hour.
After 19 August, the old wing of Terminal 1 would be demolished for upgrading works and the entire terminal building would be ready by June next year while the extended runway was expected to be fully completed by April next year.
