V Australia has announced that its third direct trans-Pacific service will connect Melbourne with Los Angeles. The new long-haul carrier will launch three flights a week on the route from 15 September 2009, following the launch of services to LAX from Sydney and Brisbane.
Virgin Blue Group CEO and Co-Founder, Brett Godfrey, said; “We know this is something people have been crying out for on both sides of the Pacific. Even in these tough economic times passenger traffic through Melbourne has been continuing to grow, so stimulating the destination further with more convenient, value-for-money, freshly innovative and high quality air services can only be a good thing for all.”
V Australia will operate the route with its brand new 360-seat Boeing 777-300ER aircraft. The plane comes equipped with in-flight bars, mood lighting and Business, Premium International and International Economy Class options.
