Vietjet recently revealed its operational plans to launch two new international routes departing from Hai Phong to Seoul in Korea and Bangkok in Thailand respectively.
The new destinations will increase the number of routes which is operated by Vietjet from Cat Bi airport to a total of 9 routes.
Speaking at the signing, Vietjet’s chairwoman Nguyen Thanh Ha said: “Thanks to its strategic geographic location at the socio-economic center of the North-Eastern region in Vietnam, Hai Phong City enjoys many positive conditions to develop its tourism sector, especially with goods and services which are oriented to cater to international tourists.
“With our continuously expanding network, we do believe that the new international routes will not only assist Hai Phong residents and tourists in their travel plans to international destinations with safe, modern and civilized air services but also boost trade and economic exchange among Hai Phong and its partners, as well as contribute to local residents’ foreign investment growth.”
The Hai Phong – Seoul route will begin operation on 12 December 2016 with flights every Monday, Wednesday, Thursday and Sunday with a flying time of around five hours per leg. Flights depart from Hai Phong City at 23:45 and arrive in Seoul at 06:00 (local time). The return flight from Seoul departs at 07:15 and lands in Hai Phong City at 10:40 (local time).
The Hai Phong City – Bangkok route will offer flights every Monday, Wednesday, Friday and Sunday beginning 9 November 2016 with a flying time of around one hour and fifty minutes per leg. Flights depart from Hai Phong City at 18:05 and arrive in Bangkok at 19:55 (local time). Return flights from Bangkok depart at 15:20 and land in Hai Phong City at 17:10 (local time).
