Vietnam Airlines has said that it may launch flights to the US as soon as the second half of next year, if American and Vietnamese regulatory authorities can reach an agreement. Thanh Nien News reported the airline’s Airlines Chief Executive, Pham Ngoc Minh, as saying that Vietnam Airlines “can start flying there anytime”, but that he needed to wait for regulatory approval. In 2008 it applied for approval to launch flights from Ho Chi Minh City to Los Angeles, via Osaka.
