Vietnam’s tourism industry continued to recover in November, as the country experienced a double-digit jump in arrivals.
According to the latest data from the Vietnam National Administration of Tourism (VNAT), the country welcomed 732,740 international visitors last month, up 20.4% year-on-year.
Mainland China (+35.6% to 175,841) remained Vietnam’s largest source market in November, followed by South Korea (+29.0% to 100,782), Japan (+8.7% to 60,687), the USA (+31.1% to 42,378), Russia (-27.2% to 37,054) and Taiwan (+34.3% to 36,932).
Almost 70% of Vietnam’s total arrivals in November were from other Asian countries.
Following a poor first six months of 2015, when arrivals dropped 12.3% year-on-year, Vietnam has rebounded in the second half. For the first 11 months of the year, the country has now welcomed a total of 7.07 million international visitors, 2.0% fewer than the same period in 2014.
