Virgin Atlantic, Hawaiian launch round-the-world airfare

17 Feb 10 (TravMedia.com): Virgin Atlantic and Hawaiian Airlines have launched a joint round-the-world airfare enabling passengers from Australia to fly around the world via some of the world’s most exotic and cosmopolitan destinations, starting in Economy from only $2152 plus taxes and business/Upper Class from $8400 plus taxes. The airfare also includes options to upgrade legs to Premium Economy on Virgin Atlantic and purchase additional sidetrips while in Hawaii on Hawaiian Airlines.
Passengers have the option to fly East or West from Australia. The fare also allows passengers to fly in and out of any 9 destinations Virgin Atlantic flies to in the U.S. and 3 gateways cities served by Hawaiian Airlines. An example of a Westbound route is Sydney - Hong Kong - London - Los Angeles - Honolulu - Sydney. An example of an Eastbound route is Sydney - Honolulu - San Francisco - London - Hong Kong – Sydney. Side trips within Hawaii to a host of destinations such as Kona, Lihue, Kahului and Hilo start from as little as US$65 one-way.
Members of Virgin Atlantic’s Flying Club, HawaiianMiles and Virgin Blue’s Velocity programme will also earn miles on this round-the-world fare.
Hawaiian Airlines flies nonstop between Sydney and Honolulu, Hawaii. The airline also offers onward connections to neighbouring Maui, Kauai and the Big Island of Hawaii, and to US mainland destinations including Los Angeles, San Francisco and Las Vegas, all of which are served by Virgin Atlantic.
