Customers jetting off with Virgin Atlantic from Dubai this week can expect a festive feast in the sky – as the airline prepares to serve 27,000 Christmas dinners at 38,000ft.
Between 24th December and 26th December customers will be treated to a complimentary three-course Christmas meal including turkey and all the trimmings free of charge. Chefs at Virgin Atlantic began developing the seasonal inflight treat in June to help make travelling over Christmas more special.
In total Virgin Atlantic will serve up around 2,000 kilos of turkey, 100,000 sprouts, and 82,000 roast potatoes on board flights to the US, Africa, UAE and China. Customers travelling in Upper Class or Premium Economy can also choose from a selection of specially designed winter cocktails.
Jill Brady, Executive Vice President of Customer for Virgin Atlantic said: “We’re looking forward to welcoming thousands of customers on board our flights this Christmas as they travel to be with friends, family or to escape the crowds on a relaxing break.
“To make our customers journey that little bit more special we’re serving Christmas dinners on board all flights to the US, South Africa, Asia, and UAE between 24th and 26th December. We started developing the special festive menus in June to ensure we’re providing an extra tasty treat for everyone travelling with us this Christmas.”
Virgin Atlantic offer a range seasonally themed menus throughout the year including strawberries and cream for Wimbledon, Chinese banquets for Chinese New Year, and Independence Day.
