Virgin Atlantic unveils new business class
Virgin Atlantic Airways has unveiled its new Upper Class cabin, which is being rolled out on its new Airbus A330 aircraft.
The first aircraft equipped with the new cabin will be launched on the London-Delhi route on 11 July, and will feature a new seat, which is 3.8cm wider and designed to recline 50% more than the previous offering, a touch-screen entertainment system, mood lighting and in-flight mobile and GPRS connectivity. The cabin will also feature the new Upper Class Suite, which Virgin Atlantic’s called its “most sophisticated and comfortable bed to date”, as well as a 2.7-metre-long onboard bar.
“The sheer innovation that runs through this pioneering product again showcases our ambition to be the leaders of the aviation industry for customer experience. We can’t wait to welcome our customers from Delhi on board in July. Having seen more than 15% growth in business class last year out of Delhi, I am confident the new Business Class cabin will help us attract even more customers,” said Steve Ridgway, CEO of Virgin Atlantic.
The new cabin is the result of a GBP100 million (US$157m) investment.
