VoA registers 63% growth

The Visa-on-Arrival (VoA) scheme registered a growth of 63% in March 2013.
A total of 2,107 VoAs were issued as compared to 1,287 VoAs issued during March 2012.
Last month, the country issued the highest number of VoAs to Japanese nationals (848), followed by the nationals of New Zealand (332), Indonesia (312), the Philippines (225), Singapore (214), Finland (109), Luxembourg (32), Vietnam (20), Myanmar (8), Cambodia (7) and Laos (0).
During the first three months of 2013, India issued a total of 5,744 VoAs as compared to 3,905 VoAs issued during the same corresponding period last year. The highest number of VoAs were issued at Delhi airport (3,371), followed by Mumbai (1,239), Chennai (778) and Kolkata (356).
