Enrichment cruise specialist Voyages to Antiquity has announced it is extending its lecture programme for 2013 – with a focus on the lines Mediterranean itineraries.
Founded in 2010 the firm brings between three and five lecturers onboard each cruise including speakers like classicist professor Mary Beard, ex-MP and journalist Martin Bell and actor Julian Glover.
The firm has added new lecturers to its programme including war journalist Sandy Gall and artist Kevin Dean who has just completed a seven year project on Abu Dhabi’s Grand Mosque.
“Each cruise now has on average 25% of guests as repeat passengers,” said David Yellow managing director of Voyages to Antiquity. “This is fantastic for such a new brand in the marketplace, but we are mindful that we need to keep our itineraries and speakers fresh for those who are returning as well as those who maybe trying us for the first time. We know that some of our guests are coming back specifically to spend more time with certain speakers as well as exploring new areas.
“Ancient history and culture are fundamental to our business, but as our coverage expands we also see the enrichment offer expanding to other subjects – such as the geography and the flora and fauna of the region as well. We are looking forward to welcoming back over 30 previous speakers from the last couple of years as well as these new ones for 2013.”
