22 February 2010: To celebrate the launch of Beach House Maldives, The Waldorf Astoria Collection on 1 March, guests at the resort will be invited to become part of history as they join the inauguration ceremony and lavish beach party on the stunning private island.
The re-branding ceremony will be over-seen by a VIP guest who will officially open the resort with the unveiling of a specially commissioned Maldivian sculpture in the new ART Gallery, which showcases local art and culture to guests. As the sun sets the festivities will continue with a lavish beach party and DJ set followed by a Gala dinner on the beach, incorporating the best of Maldivian flavours with The Waldorf Astoria Collection touch to the backdrop of a live local band.
Hilton’s management team have been in situ at the resort since 1 July 2009 and have overseen a number of key developments, which sees the resort re-brand from The Beach House at Manafaru to become the first Waldorf Astoria Collection property in Asia Pacific.
New upgraded F&B concepts across all four restaurants and three bars have been designed to reflect the local heritage complemented by global influences and using local organic ingredients wherever possible. From Maldivian dishes with The Waldorf Astoria Collection flair at over-water restaurant Saffron, to Tapas and Sangria with a Maldivian edge at the Mediterranean themed Salt Water and martinis and cocktails inspired by The Waldorf Astoria Collection properties around the world at Infiniti; each dining experience offers a local twist.
