Starwood’s Westin Hotels & Resorts brand has conducted a new roadshow in China celebrating the Westin Heavenly Bed. The ‘Out of Home’ China campaign ran from 5-13 November 2011, and included outdoor displays in several cities, such as Guangzhou, Shenzhen, Hefei, Nanjing, Tianjin, Fuzhou, Wuhan and Xiamen. It also visited two cities with new Westin hotels opening by early next year – Ningbo and Xi’an.
At the main site, visitors were given the opportunity to participate in bed-making competitions and interactive iPad quizzes, as well as getting sleeping tips from experts. Stays at Westin Hotels were also given away in lucky prize draws.
The Westin Xian held its own activity on 12 November at Century Ginwa, near to the city’s landmark Bell Tower. The campaign included a ‘Yoga in Bed’ programme, inviting guests to learn how to do yoga from their bed from a professional yoga trainer. The hotel also gave away prizes from its Heavenly line of products, including its ‘Heavenly Pillow’.
The roadshow coincides with a major expansion of the Westin brand in China, with 11 new hotels joining its existing portfolio of 13 properties over the next three years. These new hotels will be located in Xian, Ningbo, Xiamen, Changbaishan, Sanya, Haikou, Taiyan, Chongqing, Qingdao, Wenzhou and Nine Dragon Hill.
Brian Povinelli, Global Brand Leader for Westin Hotels & Resorts said; “The Westin Heavenly Bed forever changed the hotel and we are extremely proud that today the bed and the Heavenly lifestyle brand continue to grow. Since the launch of the Heavenly Bed, we’ve strengthened our commitment to bringing a little bit of Heaven to our guests through new retail items and innovative programming – a rewarding mission that has earned Westin tremendous trust and loyalty.”
