Starwood Hotels & Resorts will launch a new Westin property in the Chinese city of Xi’an in December 2011. Located in the Qujiang Tourism district, and once the site of the Tang Dynasty’s Royal Summer Garden, The Westin Xian sits directly opposite the Big Wild Goose Pagoda, which was built more than 1,000 years ago.
The hotel will feature a range of 329 rooms and 32 one- and two-bedroom apartments, all with flat screen LCD televisions, rain showers, extra-large closets, and Westin’s signature Heavenly bed.
F&B facilities include three restaurants; the all-day dining restaurant Seasonal Tastes, Five Sen5es, which specialises in Cantonese food, and a Japanese restaurant called Mai. In addition, Daily Treats will serve coffee and light snacks, while the Lobby Lounge offers day and evening drinks.
Other property features include the WestinWORKOUT gym, an indoor swimming pool, and Heavenly Spa by Westin. The hotel will also be the first Westin in the world to feature its own museum, with a collection of more than 2,000 artefacts including 80 Chinese mural paintings, a gold suit of armour, and a metre-high stone Buddha head.
