Consumer organisation Which? has launched a new campaign to ‘Stop the Holiday Hassles’.
Its campaign has been launched after research found six million people, one in seven, faced a problem while on holiday, with Which? hoping to ‘uncover shoddy practice and offer advice’ during the summer.
The most common issue was a delayed or cancelled flight (30%) along with long waits at baggage reclaim (25%), accommodation different to description (24%) and unhelpful staff (24%).
Nearly two thirds said they would make a complaint if something went wrong although only 54% felt confident about knowing their rights.
“People don’t deserve to come back from holiday as stressed out as when they left. This summer, we’re asking travellers to share their getaway gripes so we can expose the dodgy deals and shoddy service to stop the holiday hassles,” said Richard Lloyd, executive director at Which?.
