Five white tiger cubs were born on Friday at the Siberian Tiger Park in Harbin, in northeast China’s Heilongjiang province. Xinhua reported that the litter comprised one male and four females, all of which are healthy. The park was reported saying that for a tiger to give birth to quintuplets was “rare”. The white tiger is a subspecies of the endangered Bengal tiger. There are currently approximately 1,000 tigers at the Siberian Tiger Center – China’s largest big cat breeding facility.
