Luxury cruise operator Windstar is launching its first-ever series of Cruisetours in Asia.
The new collection allows passengers to extend their cruise with a land element, with rates including all sea and land activities, including the cruise, hotels, excursions, meals and transfers.
“We’ve applied our philosophy of exploring hidden harbours and secluded coves to our land experiences, handpicking the best excursions to taste the local culture,” said Hans Birkholz, Windstar’s chief executive officer. “Our Cruisetours take care of all the logistics, so our guests can truly relax and enjoy the destination at hand in exclusive Windstar style, both on land and at sea.”
The first range of Cruisetours will allow guests to explore destinations in Southeast Asia, including Myanmar and Cambodia. The ‘Singapore, the Malay Peninsula, & Myanmar Cruisetour’ includes a 10-day voyage to and from Singapore and a four-day trip to Myanmar, with visits to Yangon and Bagan.
The ‘Southeast Asia Unveiled & Angkor Wat Cruisetour’ forms part of the Windstar’s 10day voyage from Hong Kong to Ho Chi Minh City and includes a three-day excursion to Angkor Wat. A third Cruisetour will visit Egypt.
Windstar is currently expanding, having purchased three ships from Seabourn in 2013. In May this year the first of these vessels was relaunched as the Star Pride, and this will be followed by the launch of the Star Breeze and Star Legend in May 2015. The three new ships will each have a capacity of 212 passengers, doubling the size of Windstar’s fleet.
The Cruisetour programme will also mark Windstar’s debut in Southeast Asia, with the company previously having focused on cruises in Europe, the South Pacific, Caribbean and Central America.
