WORLDHOTELS celebrates 40th anniversary
Frankfurt, June 10 2010 – One of the leading groups for independent hotels, WORLDHOTELS, is celebrating its 40th anniversary this year. In honour of this special occasion, the hotel group is launching a number of fantastic offers, including its “Two Nights and More” rate which presents great deals for travellers staying at participating WORLDHOTELS properties for a minimum of two nights. This special rate includes breakfast and is available until 31 August 2010 on worldhotels.com. More special offers can be found online at: www.worldhotels.com/specialoffers <http://www.worldhotels.com/specialoffers> .
Today, the company’s dynamic collection of the world’s most unique hotels consists of 450 properties in 250 destinations in 65 countries worldwide. When the group was founded, it counted 55 hotels. The Savoy Berlin is one of the founding members that are still part of the group today.
“When we joined in 1970 we were looking for a strategic partner to support us in the increasingly competitive global market”, says general manager Hans Eilers. “Throughout the years, WORLDHOTELS has helped us to maintain our individuality whilst enabling us to overcome some huge changes in the industry. Today, our guests benefit from this partnership more than ever.”
Over the years, WORLDHOTELS has greatly expanded its portfolio and is today on a path of continuous growth. In the first half of 2010, the hotel group contracted 29 new hotels, among which are five new openings.
“We joined WORLDHOTELS because positioning is everything”, says Anthony O’Neill, general manager of Singapore’s new heritage hotel Fort Canning which will open in August 2010. “It might be easy to fill 86 rooms – but WORLDHOTELS will help us to attract the right business and to position our property as the top corporate choice in Singapore.”
Two spectacular new hotels that were recently integrated into the group are the luxurious Royal Garden Hotel in London’s Kensington and the brand new Aria Resort & Casino of the MGM MIRAGE collection in Las Vegas which boasts over 4,000 guest rooms.
“WORLDHOTELS’s expansive global reach will increase our brand awareness and help to establish our property as one of the world’s premier luxury resorts”, comments Gail Fitzgerald, senior vice president of Aria Resort & Casino.
Mark Anderson, director of sales of the Royal Garden Hotel, adds:
“We joined WORLDHOTELS because of their business approach. They realise that their success comes from offering a broad selection of truly unique hotels. We are still in the very early stages of our relationship but we are pleased to have already noticed an increase in GDS business.”
WORLDHOTELS plans to add a total of 100 new hotels during 2010. The hotel group will also launch a number of attractive promotions for all target groups, as well as new services for affiliate hotels.
Robert Hornman, managing director of WORLDHOTELS, comments:
“During the last four decades, WORLDHOTELS has evolved into a global brand offering independent hotels an unparalleled range of services in marketing, sales, distribution and benchmarking. We have earned a global reputation for being a pioneer in technology and a strong and reliable partner for clients and independent hotels. We look forward to building on this in 2010 and beyond.”
Additional endorsements for WORLDHOTELS:
“Goodwood Park Hotel is proud to be an affiliate of WORLDHOTELS since 1972. This membership has presented us with an important competitive advantage and allowed us to greatly grow our business in terms of sales distribution and market positioning.”
Linda Wee, general manager, Goodwood Park Hotel, Singapore
“We selected WORLDHOTELS from many global sales and marketing companies and have been honoured to be affiliated with them since 1989. WORLDHOTELS has helped us to position ourselves as the top international five-star hotel in Kobe, Japan, and to gain increased corporate and leisure business through GDS and OTA channels.”
