The Burj Dubai Tower, which is set to become the world’s tallest building when completed, will be delayed by an extra 8-9 months, according to Emaar Properties. The Gulf News reported that “upgraded designs” have been cited as the cause of the delay. The tower is part of a US$20 billion complex, to include shopping malls, hotels and residences. It is now likely that construction will run into 2009.
