Xiamen Airlines has taken delivery of a new Boeing 737-700 equipped with the high-altitude and high-temperature airport operations packages, as well as the new Boeing Sky Interior.
The packages will enable Xiamen Airlines to operate its new 737 in Tibet, which is home to some of the world’s highest airports. A new engine configuration provides additional thrust necessary at high altitude, while an enhanced navigation system enables pilots preset the safest routes through the mountainous region.
“We’re honoured to partner with Xiamen Airlines in the introduction of a new era of airline service to its expanding fleet,” said Ihssane Mounir, Boeing Commercial Airplanes’ Senior Vice President of Sales for Greater China & Korea. “The 737-700 with enhanced features will contribute to the development of Xiamen Airline’s operations in China’s tableland environmental areas.”
The new aircraft is the 50th Boeing jet delivered directly to Xiamen Airlines.
