Xiamen Airlines took delivery of two new Boeing 737-800s on 26 December 2014, marking the Chinese airline’s 12th and 13th new aircraft of 2014.
And this year, the carrier plans to accelerate its growth with 19 new aircraft expected to join Xiamen’s fleet in 2015.
According to its delivery schedule, Xiamen Airlines will take delivery of four new Boeing 787-8 Dreamliner aircraft this year, marking the completion of its six-aircraft order (the first two were delivered in 2014). These new aircraft will enable Xiamen Airlines to add a new route to Manila and embark on its first ever flights to Europe.
The remaining 15 aircraft will all be single-aisle B737-800 aircraft, continuing the growth of Xiamen’s all-Boeing fleet.
Based Xiamen’s Gaoqi International Airport, in southwest China’s Fujian province, currently operates a fleet of 113 aircraft, including 105 B737s, six B757-200s and two B787.
It expects to carry more than 20 million passengers in 2015.
