A bomb blast in central Yangon on Thursday morning injured seven people, according to witnesses quoted by dpa news agency. The blast was near the Yangon City Development Committee (YCDC), which is near the Sule Pagoda in the centre of town.
No one immediately claimed responsibility for the blast, dpa said.
Security has been extra tight in the city this month, which marks the one-year anniversary of huge anti-government demonstrations led by Buddhist monks, followed by a brutal crackdown by military authorities.
