Officials in Russia say they have found “indisputable proof” of the existence of yetis. Orange News reported the local government in Kemerovo, Western Siberia, as saying that footprints and possibly even a bed belonging to the yeti – or abominable snowman – had been found on a recent expedition.
“During the expedition to the Azasskaya cave, conference participants gathered indisputable proof that the Shoria mountains are inhabited by the Snow Man,” the Kemerovo region administration was reported saying in statement. “They found his footprints, his supposed bed, and various markers with which the yeti marks his territory,” it added.
Russia has been gripped by yeti-fever recently, and even the country’s heavyweight boxing champion Nikolai Valuev has joined the hunt for the beast. In 2009, local hunters witnessed what they described as “hairy humanoid creatures” near the Azasskaya Cave, although no hard evidence has been produced – until now.
