Almost 200 young professionals in the 20-35 year-old demographic attended last week’s Young Business Forum at the Sofitel Wentworth Sydney where Ralph Norris, Chief Executive Officer, Commonwealth Bank of Australia discussed “Australian Banking: a changing landscape”.
Mr Norris – who has a distinguished 30-year career in banking including Chairman of the Australian Bankers’ Association and a Director of the Business Council of Australia – spoke at the sell-out event at Sofitel about the challenges hefaces in his day to day role as CEO where he manages more than 700,000 shareholders, over 40,000 employees, and a market capitalisation of approx $87billion.
The event, proudly hosted by IBM and Sofitel Luxury Hotels/Accor Asia Pacific was also attended by Accor Australia Vice President Simon McGrath and IBM Australia VP Global Technology Services, Dan Freidman.
With a fashionable CBD address, the iconic ‘Wentworth’ marries its rich heritage with Sofitel’s sophisticated French pedigree for a contemporary yet classic hotel experience. Sofitel Sydney Wentworth is still a favourite on the Sydney hotel scene and enjoys a prime location in the heart of the city, within walking distance to such Sydney icons as the Harbour Bridge, the Opera House, the Rocks and the Art Gallery of NSW.
Last year Sofitel Sydney Wentworth became the only hotel able to cater in-house kosher cuisine in Sydney and its surrounds, allowing the observance and creation of kosher cuisine for small through to larger scale events of up to 600 people.
