Cox & Kings has reported a 76 percent increase in trade bookings to Latin America, it was revealed today. The tour operator has found its group tours are particularly popular as half of its top six selling holidays are Latin America based. Group bookings through the trade up 34 percent on average. “Although holiday-makers are increasingly more independent and adventurous, now, more than ever there is high demand for the reassurance of an organised tour and the security of travelling as part of a small group,” said Catherine Bear, agency sales manager at Cox & Kings.” Agents can really capitalise on this trend and sell escorted tours to interesting destinations safe in the knowledge their clients will be very well looked after”. Costa Rica and Cuba have been named as popular destinations, with passenger numbers up 30 percent and 180 percent respectively, compared to 2009.
