Butlins has reported a 15% increase in guests staying at its resorts over the festive period compared to last year.
A mixture of wanting to relax and entertain the family were reasons behind the rise, with sales at a record GBP7 million. Its current television advert, the first since December 2011, has used animation, a viral song (Trololo) and Sir Billy Butlin’s Shakespearean inspiration “Our true intent is all for your delight “ to encourage bookings in 2013.
“For our 2013 ad, we’ve continued to innovate by combining cutting-edge animation with a completely unexpected soundtrack to bring to life the positive emotional impact that a visit to Butlins has on families,” said Allan Lambert, head of retail sales at Bourne Leisure. “We’ve tried to communicate Butlins timeless family values through an animated style which captures the feeling of the brand experience, with an endline which explains how Sir Billy Butlin’s founding beliefs are alive and well in the much changed, modern resorts.”
