Iraqi Airways to resume Gatwick service
By Amanda Greenwood, 19 February 2013, Tuesday 8:05 AM
Iraqi Airways is set to launch services from the UK next month for the first time since August 1990.
Starting from 5 March, the airline will operate three flights a week from Gatwick to Baghdad and to the Kurdish city of Sulaimaniya in the north east of the country.
The carrier will deploy its newly purchased Airbus A330 aircraft to operate two direct flights to Baghdad and one to Sulaimaniya every week.
It plans to increase frequency to six flights a week by 15 June.
The carrier was also granted permission to launch flights from Baghdad from Kuwait last week.
