Festivalgoers heading to Europe have pushed up bookings for LateRooms.com, it has revealed.
The accommodation booking site has seen bookings to Croatia soar 1500% year-on-year where the INMusic Festival will be held, while bookings to Lisbon for Optimus Alive! are up 325% and sales to Porto for the Primavera Festival are up 116%.
Serbia has also seen a 54% thanks to the Exit Festival.
European festivals are becoming more popular for Brits to visit as bigger headline acts are announced and holidaymakers look to include more activities within their trips.
“2013 is going to be extremely profitable for hotels near European festival sites, and we have already seen bookings growing at faster rates year on year as the popularity of these festivals increase,” said Lynda Matthews, offline marketing manager at LateRooms.com.
“More and more of our British customers want to combine the music event with a short break to Europe,” she added.
