Aston completes work on Belitung hotel
Archipelago International has celebrated the completion of work on its first hotel on the Indonesian island Belitung.
The Aston Belitung Hotel is will feature 174 rooms and suites, plus a conference centre with several meeting rooms. Other facilities include a coffee shop and lounge, spa, sauna, gym, bar and a swimming pool with ocean views.
“We aim for Aston to be Indonesia’s most comprehensive and consistent upscale hotel network bringing international standards and sophisticated conference faculties not only to major cities but also to Indonesia’s many booming secondary and tertiary cities. The Aston Belitung will be our 33rd Aston in the country and the leading hotel in Belitung,” said Archipelago International’s Vice President of Sales & Marketing, Norbert Vas.
The island of Belitung is a major centre for tin mining, and was named after resources company BHP Billiton. It is also now becoming a tourism hub.
