HK Disney completes expansion
Hong Kong Disneyland Resort will open the third and final part of its HK$3.6 billion (US$464m) expansion plan next month, with the launch of a new area called ‘Mystic Point’
Set to be unveiled on 17 May 2013, the new themed section will be based around the life of an eccentric explorer called Lord Henry Mystic and his travel companion, a monkey called Albert. The new characters will be displayed in a series of attractions, including the ‘Mystic Manor’ house, the 32-car ‘Mystic Magneto-Electric Carriage’ ride, the Explorer’s Club Restaurant and The Archive Shop.
Ahead of the launch, Hong Kong Disneyland will allow the travel trade to get a closer look at the new attractions in a series of webinars. The four-session online webinars will take place this month. In addition, three preview days, on 7, 10 and 11 May, have been earmarked for the travel trade to explore the new Mystic Point attractions.
“With the opening of Mystic Point and the completion of the current expansion plan, Hong Kong Disneyland will offer over 100 attractions, entertainment facilities and shows, further strengthening the resort’s appeal across all segments. The sales and distribution marketing team looks forward to celebrating this special moment with our travel trade partners and we will work even closer to create lifelong memories for our guests,” said Terruce Wang, Hong Kong Disneyland’s Vice President of Sales & Distribution Marketing.
