Egypt-based Sakkara Group International (SGI) has acquired UK-based tour operator Mosaic Holidays.
As part of the new agreement Sabina Shaida, managing director of Mosaic will relocate to the UK headquarters of STI Travel, one of SGI’s brands.
There she will work with the head of STI UK Mohamed Abdel Hadi to integrate the operator into the group.
“We have been looking for the right partner with the right fit for some time now to enable Mosaic to expand its luxury tailor-made portfolio and invest in our partnerships with key travel agents,” said Shaida. “This investment provides an exciting opportunity to expand the company and develop into new and exciting destinations.”
SGI owns and operates several hotels, cruise companies and tour operators including US brands Central Holidays and STI Travel.
“The acquisition of Mosaic Holidays is the next strategic step in SGI’s goals for growth” said Baher Ghabbour, chairman of SGI. “SGI’s expansion in the UK will enable our family of brands to provide more in-depth destination expertise and hands-on in-country support throughout the region, positioning us ideally to present an even greater array of customised travel opportunities and exclusive experiential offerings that today’s travellers are yearning for.”
Mosaic Holidays is an AITO member and was set up more than 13 years ago specialising in holidays to the Middle East, Northern Cyprus, North Africa and Indian Ocean.
