The Midcounties Co-operative Travel has welcomed three new members to the Co-op Consortium, taking the total number of businesses in the UK’s only independent travel consortium to 35.
Born 2 Ski, based in North Yorkshire, and Elite Travel Boutique, based in Altrincham, have both moved from the Freedom Travel Group. Newly established agent World Travel Lounge, based in Blackpool, has also joined.
Ski enthusiast Mike Pritchard is the sole owner and director of Born 2 Ski and has more than seven years’ experience in the industry. Born 2 Ski offers tailor-made itineraries for individual and corporate groups, including ski weekends and catered chalets.
Elite Travel Boutique, owned by Kathryn Thompson, specialises in ultra-luxury holidays with expertise in the Caribbean, Dubai, South Africa and Europe.
World Travel Lounge is run by Louise Logan and two partner directors, with 47 years of travel experience between them. The firm offers a wide range of holidays and plans to expand into the stag, hen and honeymoon markets.
Alison Holmes, head of Consortium, said: “We’re thrilled to be welcoming three new members to the consortium, especially ones with such a collective mix of talent. We’re joined by two well-established agents with extensive specialist knowledge and one start-up agent that is passionate about expanding into new sectors.
The consortium provides its 35 members with marketing support, technical training and assistance, as well as group membership of ABTA and ATOL, helping to provide lower operating costs.
