The latest data released by Newquay Cornwall Airport has revealed a significant increase in passengers using the airport for business and pleasure.
The airport owner has revealed 71,233 passengers used the facility between April and June. This represents a 26% increase on the same period last year.
The significant rise in passenger figures is attributed to more people using the London-Gatwick service and the increase in scheduled flights to and from Manchester and Birmingham and new services to Dublin & London-Stansted.
The airport’s managing director, Al Titterington, said: “Passenger numbers continue to grow month on month, a trend which we expect to continue throughout the summer. We continue to work really hard with airlines to ensure routes and passengers continue to grow now and in the future”.
