Organisers of the Business Travel Summit Amsterdam have hailed the inaugural event a success, with 182 attendees attending the two-day conference and exhibition. A follow up edition has been confirmed for October 2017.
The event, which took place on 5-6 October at NH Grand Krasnapolsky on the capital’s Dam Square, was created specifically for travel buyers and managers from the Nordic and Benelux regions. It featured a high calibre 20-session education programme headlined by Brussel’s bombing survivor Sebastien Bellin, plus formal and informal networking, and meetings with 35 hand-picked suppliers.
74 buyers attended from ten northern European countries: Netherlands, Luxembourg, Belgium, Switzerland, Sweden, Finland, Germany, United Kingdom, Ireland and Poland.
Adrian Whitcombe, senior manager, Marketing Operations, Egencia, commented: “As a key market for us, we fully supported Business Travel Summit Amsterdam with sponsorship and speakers, and even timed the release of our smartwatch app for the event. During the two days we had a great time meeting a lot of clients, potential clients and industry partners – both formally and informally. We look forward to returning next year.”
Business Travel Summit Event director David Chapple added: “We have been overwhelmed by the positive feedback we’ve received for Business Travel Summit Amsterdam from delegates, speakers, exhibitors and sponsors. Buyers praised the quality of the conference programme and exhibitors were delighted with the quality of the buyers they met. It was clearly a much-needed event and we’re thrilled to confirm we will be returning to Amsterdam in October 2017.”
