Oman Air will introduce a four times weekly service from Muscat to Najaf, in Iraq from November.
It is expected the flights will further strengthen political, economic and cultural ties between Oman and Iraq.
Paul Gregorowitsch, Chief Executive Officer at Oman Air, said: “Following a temporary delay of our service to Najaf as the operational teams were assessing and scheduling all fleet types for safe deployment on the route, Oman Air is delighted to start this service as our first destination in Iraq. The holy city of Najaf offers excellent potential for business travellers, those visiting friends and family, and for pilgrims. We anticipate a high demand.”
The addition of this route demonstrates Oman Air’s continuing commitment to growth and expanding the network. This has seen the company take delivery of outstanding new aircraft, introduce a range of exciting new destinations and launch new products and services which contribute to a seamless passenger experience.
