Steigenberger Hotel Business Bay, Dubai has appointed Stephen Meredith as General Manager to lead the cosmopolitan five-star property with a German touch into 2017.
Meredith has operated in the capacity of Executive Assistant Manager for the hotel since May of this year, and has taken over from Siegfried Nierhaus, Vice President, Steigenberger Middle East – who had assumed the role of Acting General Manager for the property for the last six months.
With 26 years of hospitality and F&B experience behind him, Meredith has worked for many respected international brands across Africa, Europe, the Middle East and South East Asia.
His business qualifications, which include an undergraduate Management Development Program, and Master of Business Administration (MBA) from the School of Business Leadership – University of South Africa, have helped him to develop practical, strategic business plans that deliver results sustainably, profitably and responsibly.
In his most recent role as Executive Assistant Manager of the Steigenberger Hotel Business Bay, Dubai, he has played a pivotal role in establishing and strengthening the hotel’s operational departments, including the concept creation and launch of The Backyard, Dubai’s leading urban space, which features a food truck, resident DJ and spectacular views of Dubai Canal, in October of this year.
“I am delighted to take up the position of General Manager of this incredibly sophisticated hotel, with its unique outlets, exceptional standards of German hospitality, and prime position within the Business Bay area,” said Meredith.
“I look forward to leading the team into 2017 and to continue to raise the bar as one of the leading hotels of Dubai.”
