Phu Quoc airport upgrade approved

The Vietnamese government has approved a development plan for Phu Quoc International Airport, VietnamNet Bridge has reported. By 2020, VND16 trillion (US$941 million) will have been spent on the southern island resort hub to upgrade it to meet international standards. The plan includes construction of a new runway capable of receiving large, wide-bodied aircraft, with annual passenger capacity expected to rise to 7 million by 2030.
