British Airways has said that 800 workers have volunteered to work unpaid for up to a month, according to a BBCD report. Another 4,000 employees are taking unpaid leave, while 1,400 people have volunteered to work part-time.
The move comes following a proposal the airline had put the proposal to 40,000 staff in an effort to cut costs. BA’s CEO, Willie Walsh, has already agreed to work unpaid in July, forgoing his monthly salary of GBP61,000 (US$100,000), the report said.
