NY tourism boost for Cambodian resort

The number of international tourists visiting Cambodia’s seaside province of Preah Sihanouk increased 50% year-on-year during the recent this Khmer New Year period, albeit from a very low base. According to a Phnom Penh Post report, the provincial Tourism Department said that 68,193 tourists visited the province from 14-16 April this year - 5.2% up from the corresponding period last year. However the number of international arrivals shot up from 410 in 2009 to 615 last week.
