Beijing is planning to combat the problem of smelly rubbish dumps – by spraying deodorant on to the worst offending landfill sites. According to a BBC report, the government has filled high-pressure hoses with a liquid deodorant, which it plans to spray over the dumps. The deodorant cannons are the brainchild of the Gao’antun Garbage Landfill Plant. After a dousing from the spray – which is made from plant extracts – the rubbish is then covered with odour-eating sheets.
