Flights have resumed to Sendai airport, which was devastated by last month’s tsunami. Both Japan Airlines (JAL) and All Nippon Airways (ANA) operated services to Sendai yesterday, although other carriers, including Taiwan’s EVA Air, have said that they will not resume services to Sendai due to the assumed threat from the compromised nuclear power stations in the region. Images of Sendai airport were broadcast around the world after the 11 March, showing small aircraft and other debris being washed away.
