The Seychelles Tourism Board (STB) and the Mauritius Tourism Promotion Authority (MTPA) signed a Memorandum of Understanding of Tourism Cooperation when they met at the World Travel Market this week. Seychelles and Mauritius will work together to strengthen the process of regional integration and the promotion of tourism in the region under the “Vanilla Islands” concept. One of the main points of the MOU speaks of the cultural events in the region where it was proposed for further consideration that the ‘Carnaval International de Victoria’, which is staged annually in the Seychelles, becomes more an event owned by the Region as a whole.
